Healing a Blackened Heart-Chapter Ten
Long raven lashes pulled back to reveal dazed sapphire hues. Kagome laid in her spot, gazing at her ceiling in calm amazement trying to process the facts of her slumber.
'I-I didn't have a single memory.' she thought as she ran her hands through Shippo's hair. Kagome suddenly frowned not remembering her little kit's hair being so long. Looking down, her eyes abruptly widened in surprise at the bright crimson mop of hair resting on her stomach. Sharp claws sprung to action in instinct. They were inches away from her unaware victim's jugular when she jerked back her hand after seeing the pale face of the male that took care of her and her kit.
Kagome blinked multiple times in her half sitting position.
'What the hell...?' she thought puzzled. Suddenly her head whirled as the events from last night filed into her memory. She groaned in embarrassment and slowly laid back down with the avatar

The soft bristling of her brush was all that was heard in the silent darkness of her hidden sanctuary. Fluent strokes ran over the canvas in a graceful dance of color, following thee blood coated hand that held it. Kagome took another swig of her liquor as she continued to work on the painting from her high stool. Wounds still covered her form, spilling forth her crimson life force to the tiles below her carpet. Another stroke of her brush along with another drag of liquor. Sapphire orbs narrowed at the jug of highly potent alcohol that she held with a frown.
'It's empty...' she thought with a small pout as her eyelids began to get heavy. Shaking herself awake, she got out of her chair and prowled to the small cabinet in the corner of the canvas filled room, ignoring the way her wounds gushed more blood as she walked. Opening the doors, she carefully looked at each choice of poison in the cabi

Kagome gritted her fangs as she tried once more to slice through the swift regenerating black hide of the monster before her. It had been nearly three days since her argument with the avatar, and her wounded pride still stung. But it was nothing compared to the numerous wounds she received from these things after her. They were really staring to piss. Her. Off. With all this master and mistress shit.
The slimy black creature cackled darkly as her claws became stuck in its inky black flesh.
"When will you give in mistress~" it taunted as it lifted it giant scrap metal claws to bring down on her. Kagome quickly ripped her other talons into its flesh and did three consecutive back flips to dodge the clumsy contraptions. The creature's four foot long claws slammed into the black top of the dark alley, causing the earth to crumble from its weight. She panted heavily in her crouch as her numerous

Healing a Blackened Heart - Chapter Seven
Kurama gasped for breath as he continued to run through the unknown forest. He didn't know why he was running or even what he was running from. All he knew is that he needed to run. He needed to escape.
He ran faster. His chest heaved in gulps of air as his lungs inflated and deflated at a vigorous rate. Looking behind him to see if his pursuers were tailing him, all he see was inky darkness. He could hear them; god he could hear them. Their twisted sneers rung in his ears like the high pitch squeal of a train. The problem is he couldn't understand what they were saying. Just like how he couldn't understand why he was running. His foot got caught on a root and he fell. The cold ground stung his knees unpleasantly as stray rocks and twigs dug into the exposed skin. The loud calls of his hunters meet his ears: all he could do is curl up into a ball, and wait of the inevitable to take p
